Clear terms for a sensitive space.

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Pairmend, the operator of Pairmend. By creating an account, accepting an invitation, or using Pairmend, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. Pairmend is not offered to children. You may use it only where doing so is lawful.

Pairmend is an AI-assisted communication and reflection product. It can help you organize your own perspective, rehearse wording, notice possible misunderstandings, and create a shared report when the applicable participants consent.

Pairmend is not therapy, couples counseling, medical or mental-health care, legal advice, diagnosis, crisis monitoring, or an emergency service. It does not decide who is right, verify facts, guarantee reconciliation, or replace your judgment or qualified human support. Do not rely on Pairmend to protect anyone from harm. Review suggestions before using or sending them.

Pairmend is not suitable for mediating abuse, coercive control, stalking, forced contact, threats, violence, or an emergency. Read the Safety page before using partner mode if you are unsure whether it is safe to disagree or say no.

• Provide accurate account information, protect your sign-in credentials, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
• Use only your own account. Do not impersonate a partner or access their device, account, reflection, voice session, or invite without permission.
• An invitation is a request, not consent. A recipient may ignore it, and its creator may revoke the link. Do not pressure someone to join or continue.
• An invitation is bound to the intended recipient's verified account email using an opaque keyed digest; Pairmend does not store the raw invited email in the invitation record. The link is still private and should be revoked if it is forwarded or reaches the wrong person.
• Private drafts, raw reflections, private AI guidance, and private safety routes belong to the author's account. A partner receives only the neutral status and shared material the product expressly identifies.
• Either participant may withdraw from an unfinished shared repair. Leaving, blocking, deletion, and access to safety information are never paywalled.

Mendi is AI, including when it speaks with a synthetic voice. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, biased, outdated, or inappropriate for facts it cannot know. Possible interpretations are suggestions, not findings about another person's motives, diagnosis, honesty, or safety.

Pairmend may pause normal guidance when content suggests a safety concern. That route is private, does not mean the AI has made a factual finding, and does not cause Pairmend to contact a partner, clinician, police, or emergency service for you.

You may not use Pairmend to:

• threaten, harass, stalk, shame, deceive, exploit, surveil, or control another person;
• force contact, manufacture consent, repeatedly send unwanted invitations, or evade a block or revocation;
• impersonate someone, submit another person's private material without a lawful right to do so, or misrepresent AI output as professional or human-authored advice;
• encourage violence, self-harm, sexual exploitation, unlawful discrimination, or any illegal activity;
• upload malware, probe security, bypass access controls or rate limits, scrape intimate content, reverse engineer the service except where law expressly permits it, or disrupt other users;
• use Pairmend for high-impact decisions about employment, housing, credit, insurance, healthcare, law enforcement, immigration, or legal rights; or
• use the service in a way that violates another person's privacy, intellectual-property rights, or applicable law.

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or the law. Where appropriate, we will explain the action and provide a way to contact support. Safety controls, statutory rights, and access to export or deletion are not withheld as punishment.

As between you and Pairmend, you keep your rights in the content you submit. You give Pairmend a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, protect, transmit, process, and generate output from that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the features you request, in line with the Privacy Notice and your consent choices. This permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to backup, legal, fraud-prevention, and financial-record obligations described in the Privacy Notice.

You are responsible for having the right to submit your content. A shared report may contain input from both participants; neither participant gains ownership of the other person's raw reflection. Do not copy or distribute shared material in a way that violates another person's rights or safety.

Pairmend does not claim ownership of relationship content, use it for targeted advertising, or use raw content for general model training unless a separate, optional consent is clearly offered and you choose it.

Pairmend does not auto-renew or charge a subscription. Repair Passes—and Mendi Live minutes when the closed pilot is offered—are one-time purchases, do not expire while the account exists, have no cash value, and cannot be resold or transferred to an unrelated account. The purchaser keeps unused units after leaving a Pair Space, and a partner cannot spend the purchaser's balance without authorization.

Each new account receives a one-time promotional grant of one Repair Pass and 180 Mendi Live seconds after onboarding. Welcome credits have no cash value and are not a recurring entitlement.

Prices above are base prices in USD. Checkout shows the product, any tax Pairmend is required to collect, and the final total before you confirm. We may change prices prospectively, but will not reduce an already purchased balance or add auto-renewal without a new, explicit agreement.

• One Repair Pass covers either one successfully delivered private one-sided deep insight or one successfully delivered two-person shared repair report. One pass covers both partners' participation in that shared repair.
• A pass is used only after a valid report is successfully stored and available to open. Starting a draft or creating an invitation does not use a pass. Not opening a delivered report does not undo use.
• A safety diversion or permanent generation failure does not use a Repair Pass.
• Mendi Live applies a five-second connection grace, then deducts server-measured connected seconds, capped by the time authorized for that session. A browser-reported disconnect, failure, cancellation, or safety exit cannot erase time already tracked by the server.
• Only measured billable seconds are deducted, so unused voice time remains in your wallet. A provider setup failure before a usable call starts records no connected time. If safety ends a live conversation, measured time through that exit is still deducted after the grace period; the safety support page, external resources, and non-voice safety actions use no credits.
• Voice time and Repair Passes are separate balances. The current product does not automatically attach a voice session to paid report generation.

Applicable statutory cancellation, refund, digital-content, and consumer rights always control over these terms. In addition, Pairmend voluntarily refunds a wholly unused pack requested within 14 days of purchase. Contact support@pairmend.com with the receipt or transaction reference; you do not need to disclose intimate relationship content.

If part of a pack has been used, support may provide a partial refund or replacement unit for a documented quality or technical problem. Failed report generation does not use a Repair Pass. Voice reconciliation deducts only server-measured billable seconds under the rules above, while unused seconds remain in your wallet; a client-reported failure, cancellation, disconnect, or safety exit is not an automatic refund of time the server already tracked. A safety diversion never uses a Repair Pass, and safety resources and non-voice safety actions remain free.

Refunds go to the original payment method where possible. Processing times, exchange-rate differences, and platform-specific rules may depend on the payment provider. Where local law requires express consent before immediate delivery of digital content or a separate acknowledgement concerning a withdrawal right, Pairmend will request it at checkout; nothing here waives a non-waivable right.

A signed refund or payment dispute freezes or removes only unused units attributable to that purchase. Pairmend does not create a negative credit balance for units already used; any unrecoverable used portion is retained only as limited financial reconciliation evidence. If a dispute is resolved in your favor, frozen unused units are released again.

The Privacy Noticeexplains the product's four privacy layers, AI and voice processing, providers, retention, export, deletion, and your choices. Payment-card details are handled by the configured payment processor rather than stored on Pairmend's application servers.

We may send messages needed to secure or operate your account, such as verification, password, receipt, invite, or material service notices. Relationship reminders, lifecycle messages, and push notifications are separately controlled where required. Pairmend will not send a partner a message chosen autonomously by AI.

We work to keep Pairmend reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Features may be repaired, limited, or discontinued for safety, legal, provider, or technical reasons. If a material change prevents use of an unused paid unit, we will provide a reasonable replacement, continued access window, or refund as applicable.

You may stop using Pairmend, leave a Pair Space, or delete your account through the available controls. Leaving immediately ends your application access to that Pair Space and its shared artifacts; there is no post-leave read-only window, so export before confirming if you want a copy. A safety block remains immediate and is never delayed for export. Deletion does not erase another person's raw content and may not immediately erase limited payment, security, consent, backup, or legal records.

To the extent permitted by law, Pairmend is provided on an “as available” basis without promises that AI output is accurate, that another person will participate, or that use will improve or preserve a relationship. You remain responsible for your communications, boundaries, choices, and use of any suggestion.

To the extent liability may lawfully be limited, Pairmend is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable from providing the service. We do not exclude or limit responsibility where doing so would be unlawful, including mandatory consumer rights or liability arising from fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury where applicable law prohibits that limitation.

We may update these terms to reflect product, provider, legal, or safety changes. The date above identifies the current version. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes and request fresh acceptance where required. Changes do not retroactively remove paid units or non-waivable rights.
